History of Company
1950 Ishikawajima-Shibaura Machinery Co.,Ltd. founded as a joint venture between Ishikawajima Shipyard (now IHI corporation) and Shibaura Engineering Works Co., Ltd. (now Toshiba Corporation) in Matsumoto, Nagano.
Air cooled 4-cycle kerosene engine III model received The Minister of International Trade and Industry Award.
1951 The Japan's first Ride-On Tractor AT-III launched.
1952 Fire pump H model passed National Fire Defense Headquarters approval.
Prototype passenger automobile MR-1 launched.
1954 Air cooled 4-cycle kerosene engine VI model received The Minister of International Trade and Industry Award.
1959 S-17 four-wheel tractor launched.
1961 Technical tie-up agreement with Motoren-Werke-Mannheim (MWM) concluded for original new diesel engine.
1972 Long term tractor supply agreement with Ford Motor tractor division (now CNH Group) concluded.
1975 New Power Tool factory in Okayama opened.
1976 Generator GF series launched.
Long term Power Tool supply agreement with STIHL concluded.
1977 The Japan's first turbo tractor SD3000 AT launched.
1982 Compact tillers (KB series and SC series) launched.
1985 Long term engine supply agreement with Perkins Engines Ltd concluded.
1990 Out front Mower achieved gold title at SIMA tradeshow.
1991 Tie-up agreement with Yanmar concluded for domestic market.
1993 Production volume of two-cycle engine reached 3 million units.
The first Yanmar-Shibaura tie-up tractor AF series launched.

1995 Perkins Shibaura Engines Limited (PSEL) founded as a joint venture with Perkins Group Limite in the UK.
1996 The Japan's first and only Ministry of Health approved Ozone In-Room Disinfector OP-10 launched.
Tokyo Headquarters received ISO 9001 certification.
1998 Acquired Tsuchiya Mfg, Japanese Turf-Care Products manufacturer.
1999 Power Tool supply agreement with MTD concluded.
2000 Matsumoto Factory received SO 14001 certification.
2001 The first electrical-HST control tractor, model AF100 launched.
Ashikaga Factory received ISO 9001 certification.
2003 The world's first Bedknife Offset Moving System launched.
2004 Perkins Shibaura Engines LLC (PSEA) founded as a joint venture with Perkins Group Limited in the USA.
2005 PSEL received The Queen's Award.
2006 Asahi Diesel Engine Factory opened in outskirt of Matsumoto, Nagano.
2007 The company's name changed from Ishikawajima-Shibaura Machinery Co.,Ltd. to IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation.
Long-term strategic partnership with Excel Industries (Hustler brand) concluded for the US Turf-Care equipment industry.
2008 Perkins Shibaura Engines (Wuxi) Company Limited (PSEW) founded in China.
Shibaura engineered CNH T2410/T2420 won 2008 Farm Industry News FinOvation Award.
2009 Validation test of IHI Shibaura ozone gas proved more than 99.99% effective against airborne Influenza A Viruses.
Representative office in Shanghai opened.
