Shibaura CM364, ST333 and ST324 go to work in Leicester, UK
Shibaura compact tractors, hard at work all over the Leicester City Council region will be a familiar sight following the recent purchase of nineteen vehicles through local dealer, Coalville based Mitchell Industries.
Geoff Lake, Area Parks Manager for the City Council, commented "we have had an on-going hire agreement with Mitchell Industries for a number of years for the Shibaura compact range and when our needs changed to purchase my operators were extremely keen to ensure that we continued to provide them for them. The words they use to describe the Shibaura include comfortable, mobile, reliable and excellent performers. I think I am correct in saying that we have only had to have the one clutch replaced in a five year period and breakdowns have been at an absolute minimum. I can count them on one hand"
Bryan Elverstone, who, on behalf of Mitchell Industries, has worked extremely closely with Leicester City Council since two thousand and three added "this excellent order confirms Leicester City Councils faith and confidence in the Shibaura compact range. We will be continuing to work in partnership with them on matters such as hand over and refresher training for operators. The order total of nineteen machines supplied through Shibaura Warwickshire based UK importer FGM Claymore, is comprised of fourteen hydrostatic Shibaura diesel powered 35hp CM364's offering front pto, cruise control and power steering, four 33hp ST333's and one 24hp ST324 model with Shibaura diesel engines, hydrostatic transmission, rear and mid pto, four wheel drive and power steering. All machines were also supplied fitted with the Tiltmaster working angle measuring device to enable the operator to ensure they are working safely at all times"
Geoff Lake concluded " When our procurement needs changed from hire to purchase we evaluated a range of different equipment but found the Shibaura to be by far the best suited to our requirements and, as I said, the men in the seats really do prefer them"
